Why a Private Pool Matters at Uluwatu
Uluwatu’s cliff geography means the ocean is typically 70–100 metres below — accessible by steep staircases at beaches such as Suluban and Bingin, which requires a certain level of fitness and timing around the tides. A private pool at cliff height gives guests an all-day swimming option with panoramic views, without the exertion of the descent and ascent. Our pool villas are also the preferred format for guests who value privacy over proximity to the beach break — a demographic that has grown significantly among our repeat guests.
Pool Types and Maintenance
Plunge pools (one-bedroom suites): saltwater or chlorinated depending on villa build. Dimensions approximately 4×3×1.4 metres. Cleaned and checked daily by our maintenance team at a time scheduled around your preference — typically early morning. Pool heating available as an optional add-on (IDR 350,000 per night) during the dry season when water temperature can drop in the early morning. Infinity pools (larger villas): chlorinated, 8–15 metres in length. Cleaned and chemically balanced every morning. No heating required — pool temperature typically 28–30°C during the peak season (June–September) and 26–28°C during the wet season (November–March).
Pool Safety and Child Considerations
All pools are unfenced in their natural configuration to preserve the open aesthetic. Families travelling with young children should declare this at enquiry stage so our team can arrange temporary fencing or pool netting (available at no additional cost, installed and removed before/after your stay). Life rings and reaching poles are kept on-site at all pool villas. Our team conducts a safety orientation on arrival for families with children under 10.
